Youth

MYF
9th-12th Grade

Youth ministry at College Mennonite Church exists so that youth can have opportunities to become centered on Christ, connected to the church, and live a life of compassion for all the different communities they are part of. Here are some of the ways we do this:

Wednesday Night Gatherings

Each week is different and anyone is welcome to join us anytime. Check out the MYF Calendar for updates.

Sunday School

We gather together after worship to share, pray, support each other, and look for the ways that God is at work in our lives and in the lives of others in the Bible and throughout history.

Retreats

In the fall we spend a weekend together at church. In the winter we spend a weekend at a Winter Youth Retreat. And every other year the 11th and 12th graders join other area Mennonite youth for a weekend focus on Building Authentic Relationships.

Summer Trips

Every other year we gather with other youth at the Mennonite Convention. And the other years we spend a week learning and serving in places like the US/Mexico Border, West Virginia, or Denver, Colorado.

Created by God

Created by God is a study of human sexuality with a Christian foundation led by our Pastor of Christian Formation, Daniel Yoder and Dr. James Ritchie. It is a great opportunity for 5th-7th graders to learn, grow, and celebrate the fact that we have each been wonderfully created by God and are called to responsible living as sexual beings. In addition to being provided an arena where accurate information and proper terminology will be gained, the young persons will better understand how their sexuality fits into God’s plan for human relationships. Using a highly interactive approach to learning, Created by God is also a lot of fun for everyone involved.
