Fund Descriptions
MINISTRIES FUND
Purpose: Plans for and provides support for CMC’s ministries
Personnel (salaries/wages, retirement, healthcare, continuing education)
Administration costs
Office operation expenses
Amity (Goshen College - CMC collaborations related to building usage, maintenance, equipment, etc.)
All Commission budgets
Support for MCUSA and Indiana-Michigan conference and other congregationally approved ministries/projects
BIRTHDAY OFFERING
Each month we collect a special "Birthday Offering" for everyone celebrating a birthday that month. Give online, or bring a gift to the circle on Sunday morning to receive a birthday blessing from a pastor. Bring a donation equal to the age you will be on your upcoming birthday. These offerings go to support the care of our place of worship.
CMC STUDENT AID
CMC Student Aid supports the tuition of our students who are attending Mennonite-affiliated schools and seminaries.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AID
International Student Aid supports international students who are attending Goshen College.
LAPP JOST MISSION
Supports the work of missionaries David and Sophie Lapp Jost. See more information about their ministry here.
TANZANIA MISSION
Tanzania Mission fund supports the ministry of missionary Dr. Esther Kawira in Tanzania
ENCIRCLING FUND
The Encircling Fund assists members and regular participants of CMC with longer-term needs. The Encircling Fund has supported our church family with a variety of financial needs including rental, mortgage and utility assistance, car and furnace maintenance and repair and medical situations and other needs during times when people have been laid off from work or have been underemployed. This fund is administered by the Community Life Commission.
JUBILEE FUND
The purpose of the Jubilee Fund is to assist members of the Goshen community who are not directly connected with College Mennonite Church. Twice a month, volunteers from the CMC Jubilee committee offer appointments and meet with individuals in the community who request assistance with items such as utilities, rent, gasoline, groceries, medical bill assistance and more.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE FUND
The purpose of the Legal Assistance Fund is to assist the immigrant seeking U.S. citizenship with legal fees associated with the filing process. Use of this fund to help an individual or family implies that a long-term relationship has been established.
MIGRANT RESOURCE FUND
The purpose of the Migrant Resource Fund is to assist the migrant in traveling to a safe place of residence and helping meet their basic needs of life. Use of this fund to help an individual or family implies that a request for assistance has come from a member and/or regular attender of College Mennonite Church.
REENTRY FUND
The purpose of the Reentry Fund is to assist the individual coming out of incarceration and assist them with the challenges they face in the reentry process. This often involves assistance with clothing, medication, groceries, rent, gasoline and more. A small portion of this fund also goes to support specific client needs of Michiana Community Corrections which helps reentrants find employment, housing, set goals and rebuild a life outside of incarceration. This fund is administered by the Community Life Commission.
